Beginnings…

I have made art in a few different media, but I fell in love with the sense of community that comes from teaching a class and sitting around a table making ceramics together.

I’ve lived in the Bay Area for 5 years and I first discovered ceramics here in 2018 after moving from New York. Previously I set my works in public spaces - performance and audio-guided walks - so I needed a new focus in a city where cars are the norm and few people walk around or take public transport.

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to an English father and Japanese mother; their wanderlust rubbed off on me. I’ve lived in London, Rio, New York and now the Bay Area. I’ve learned from moving so much, that a new place will feel like home with new friends and a community. I hope you can find both here.
